This is my submission for Monday Artday, the weekly theme is "Beatrix Potter". She is one of my all time favorites since childhood. This is a depiction of one of the mice in "The Tailor of Gloucester". In the story, the mice make little clothes out of the tailor's little cloth scraps, and in the end they really help out the tailor and save the day!

Dino Sketch Stage II

I haven't had a lot of my own time so far this week to work on what I want to, but that is a good thing. It's good to be getting swamped with some freelance for a little bit. I just had enough time to add the shadows (which is always my next step with watercolor after drawing) I love to be able to see the transparent purple shadows underneath the colorful layers. I also added a hint of an environment. I think the "purple stage" is really pretty in its own right, so I hope you all enjoy watching my watercolor process!

My first ATC

I made my first Artist Trading Card today. I used a stamp that I had created from an illustration I had done. (the deer) And I used acrylic, gel medium, paper scraps, ribbon, thread and some wallpaper. It's pretty much mixed media at that point I guess. But I think it's cute. I figured it would be good to do at least one per week as a gift to myself and for myself. (the time, not the card) I'll be putting in on Monday Artday tonight!
