Back to Basics

The other night I just had this urge paint in a more scholarly, observational way. I quickly plucked a shapely apple from the kitchen fruit basket and got to work. I had a lot of fun just focusing on lighting and color. I think some of this desire comes from wanting to make sure I am ready to paint in my figure painting class this Tuesday. It has been about a year and and a half since I painted from life!!

Wow, you certainly shouldn't be worried about being out of practice, this is amazing and delicious enough to eat!

this is really great. the shape of the apple is so interesting and the dark juxtaposed against the light makes this composition really intriguing... Snow White herself would be tempted AGAIN. =)
Thanks for sharing.
