Self Portrait (Color)

{Watercolor, 2010}
I finished my self portrait and will be posting in to The Doodle Diner group blog. I think it turned out stylized enough but still retains a pretty good likeness to me. This piece will only be good for 6 months to a year, because I like to change my hair style/color every now and then!

Self Portrait (B&W)

{Prisma on Watercolor Paper, 2010}
I'm working on this self portrait for The Doodle Diner blog, where I am a contributer. I plan to paint it with watercolor tomorrow which should help with more of the likeness. The goal was to have the self portrait slightly stylized. I'll post the final illustration when I have finished it!

Progress Report and a Artsy Self Portrait

I finished the composition for this week's IF of "save", and I will soon be giving the image life and breath, but I spent most of today out in the garden. Tonight I will do a burnt sienna wash over the painting with oils and pull out the highlights and values of the painting before I begin. I want to take a new approach to this painting. I love experimenting.
Oh..and I added a little self portrait I took of myself. Call me vain, but I like taking pictures of myself. Who doesn't? Mostly because I know what angle to get myself at to look the most dramatic or whatever. I like this one because it shows a side of me that is playful and secretive in my own little world. I also like to play with my camera, and I'm usually the most readily available for subject matter.
