50 Red Envelopes #4

Here is card #4 for my challenge of 50 Handmade cards to coincide with the 50 red envelopes I purchased. This card includes: cut paper, marker, felt, buttons and some letter stampings.

I spent most of today working on my promo illustration for the summer. I am SO close to being finished. I can't wait to be done, so I can send it out as a postcard and show all of you!

50 Red Envelopes #3 and Sketchbook

Here is the third card of the series. It's watercolor, mixed papers, a button, ribbon and grommets. I was asked what I would do with these cards when I'm done with the challenge. The answer: I'll probably place them on Etsy (at least some of them) and see how they do.

Below is a recent little sketchbook drawing, I thought a few of you might like to see it!

Promo Peek & 50 Red Envelopes #2

This is a peek at a piece of my promo illustration that I hope to finish soon and make into a postcard for the Summer of 08! It's an oil painting on board.

This is card #2 of my 50 card challenge. I used ribbon, stamp letters and a stamp I had created from a cardinal illustration I did. I think this one has a nice scrap-book-y look to it. I love trying new things, and I hope all 50 cards look unique in one way or another.

Personal Creative Challenge: 50 Red Envelopes

Card #1 of 50 "Poppies"

I have a pack of red envelopes that I bought after Christmas because they were such a nice color of red. I never had any intention of making any Christmas cards with them, but I didn't know what to do with them until today!
I figured it out. A 50 unique cards challenge. Each card will have to work with the red envelope in one way or another. This is good for me because I red is a color that is hard for me to use as a focal point often because it is so powerful. Also, I want to try new techniques and styles on each one. Who knows? It could be fun!
