Illustration Friday - Gesture
This started as a free form watercolor piece working wet into wet. As it was drying I pulled some of the color out where the face was and also added a few watercolor details where the eyes, nose and mouth are. I used a colored pencil to tighten the piece up and some white acrylic to add highlights. I love that this wild child started out as a gestural watercolor! (It sort of fits, considering my lack of planning in lieu of playing.) I wish I could have a crown of wildflowers and insect wings!

Owh! It's a beautiful piece..and you didn't sketch the face and details from the start? That's pretty awesome :)
Wonderful expressive illustration. She had that wide-eyed look of wonder, that I wish we all could keep!
Hey Candance! It's been a long while, but your work is still just as amazing as the last time I visited! How fantastic is this! Great work.

Candace! This is so beautiful, soft, elegant. Love it. Thank you so much for sharing.
REally like the pop of the eyes on this...they look wet and really contrast the handling of the face...nice
