Illustration Friday - Perennial (Uncolored Version)

{Ink on Paper, 2011}
I did a drawing of flowering plants that are perennials here in Iowa. I have each of these plants in my own garden. Can you guess what plants they are? I will be posting a digitally colored version later this week, as well as identifying what plants they are. Aside from illustration, gardening is one my my most favorite activities and I especially like when illustration is inspired by gardening!

I like combining art and gardening too...this is lovely as it is, but I look forward to seeing the colored version as well!

Great illo...love the simplicity of the line drawing but I am sure the colour version will be stunning also.

Such a pretty line drawing. I have very little success as a gardener, so I certainly appreciate those who do!

Hey there, Candace! Beautiful work, as always. I really enjoy the colors in your last one, too!
