Vinyl Toy Work in Progress

{Sketch on Kid Robot Trikky Sticker, 2010}
{Primed Kid Robot Mini Trikky Vinyl Toy, 2010}
I know lots of artists have been on the Kid Robot vinyl toy bandwagon for a long time, but I am often a little late to the game on fads. I bought this Mini Trikky several months ago and he has been sitting on my art desk for months. I decided, while I am waiting for my book project to begin, I would start working on him. The sketch above is what I am planning on. I still don't know exactly what colors I'll use, but I will try to take some progress shots and show the final project when I finish it. I plan on painting it with oils and hopefully it turns out cute!

LOL! Oh thank you for this post. I have had one of these on my desk for several months... staring with no face at me... asking me when I am going to do something about decorating him/her! I love that you are posting your process and am looking forward to see how you execute this! :)

Is this kinda like modding My Little Ponies?

awesome...I have one waiting for me to tackle too! Not a cat but I have the dome shape...had sketches thrown out but I keep getting conflicting information on what paint to use...I hate to put a bunch of work into something and it fall apart because of bad paint...let me know how the oils work...
