Still Rockin'

{Oil on Board, 2010}
Just another post showing the most recent progress on this piece. Now that I have most things worked out in terms of color, it is time to tidy it up and start shaping things up with the paint! I also darkened several areas so that I can bring out the lights again. It is hard for me to work from a stark white (or light) background, so sometimes I just have to re-neutralize things and go from there.

Candace! I don't know how you do it..these are amazing works in progress..really, really truly. I especially love the drama in the "girl walking home" - the perspective of the animals in the foreground is splendid. And it's awesome to see how you work - all of the details are so interesting. I have great respect for those of you who do oil and do it so well. I only tried once and it was so very difficult for me. Looking forward to seeing how they all progress. Much creative time and peace to you!

I'm really liking this a lot. I love working with oil, it was my favorite medium for years. It's looking great.

Hey Pretty lady,
It's been a while. I know that you have been busy and I have too. Happy New Year my friend. Hope that it's off to a great start! Your illustration is sooooooo wonderfully vintage and takes me back to when I was a kid. It's truly wonderful and I 'm going to take your advice about the bears. So glad you liked them.
Thanks.
