This is so cool! How nice of you to have this great giveaway. Please count me in! I would use them to promote my creative talents of course!

I love using things for something other than their intended purpose. I would use the postcards by lacquering them onto a large piece of wood and using the finished product as a headboard in my room. That is, of course, after sending a few notes to friends on a few of them. :-)

Oh, wow! What a great contest!
I would use the postcards as promotional tools, sending them to galleries and publishing companies to get my work out there and seen.
Thanks for the chance!

Great promo, Candace! After working on 3 children's books this past year and being away from blogging and promoting my work, I would use the postcards to showcase my new books to publishers.

I would love to use them for promotion for my booth at the Des Moines Arts Festival coming up really quickly! How great for you to give these away :)

What a great idea. I would take them to my daughters art teacher and share them with each of the kids. I'd also use some to promote my art and to futher promote the arts in my town. We have a library that acts as a gallery for an individual artist each month and needs more promotion.

I would use them for wedding invites or reminders or thank-yous. : ) I'm not quite ready for that yet, so I'm not entirely sure in which capacity they would be most helpful.

To have 500 postcards is a lot so there would have to be multiple uses.

First I would, of course, send them out to Art Directors and Editors at publishing houses to promote my children's book illustration. The volume of postcards will also motivate me to find more ADs and Editors for my list.

Second I would go around Des Moines and hand them out in craft shops, paper stores, gift shops, etc. Wherever I can find people to take them.

Third I would pin them to bulletin boards to promote my work while at the same time allowing everyone to see how beautiful the postcard is itself...all shiny and new.

Finally, knowing that I would still have some left (maybe), I would place them in with my paintings that are sold so they can be given away and shared by others.

It's a beautiful opportunity and thank you Candace for it. :)

with 15 minutes to spare! (yesssss!) 500 postcards, huh? Well if I won I would design a kick-ass promotin postcard for Sweet Japonic and donate them to the band so one day they will become big and tour the country ... and just maybe remember those who helped them along the way.
