Illustration Friday- Little Things

I'll probably do a children's art piece for this later in the week, but for now, I just had to post this realistic painting I did of my favorite treasures from my Mother's jewelry box. They all contain rhinestones and other fake jewels. I still love to sift through the jewelry box when I go home. This is also a self portrait; I put myself on the cover of the clock necklace locket. Anyways, I really enjoyed doing this piece. I love leaving the children's art realm once in a while and just doing a intricate oil painting. I hope you all enjoy! Leave a comment!

Great realism in that illustration - I like the shiney parts.

it's just beautiful...I have all of my mother's old rhinestone pieces now...they are wonderful and I keep them, and all of my jewelry, in her old jewelry box....when I reach for my jewelry it's like being a kid again and rummaging through her jewels. Thanks for that memory...
